BIRD WATCHING

Bird-watching as an activity invites us to slow down and tune into the natural rhythms of the world. There is a quiet magic in focusing on something seemingly simple and ordinary. There is no need to search for deeper spiritual truths – sometimes, the very act of observing, of truly seeing, offers its own form of transcendence.

Overlooking the industrial harbor of Barcelona, the artwork provides a meditation on scale, perspective, and presence. Bird-watching, juxtaposed against the backdrop of human industry, becomes an unexpected yet powerful avenue for reflection.

In this work, nature and human-made systems coexist, creating a confrontation between the fleeting delicacy of the birds and the massive, unyielding structures of industry. This contrast invites viewers to reflect on the tension between the smallness of nature and the vastness of humanity’s impact on the environment. The birds, though seemingly insignificant, emerge as symbols of freedom and resilience, soaring above the sprawling machinery below.
